FAQs
What happens during the initial assessment?
The initial assessment is a relaxed and supportive space for us to get to know each other. We'll chat about your medical history, eating habits, and any challenges you're facing. My goal is to really understand where you're at so we can create a plan that feels right for you. At the end of our session, I'll suggest some next steps and options to help guide your journey.
What happens during follow-up sessions?
Follow-ups are a chance to check in on your progress, reflect on any food or thought diaries, and explore what’s been working (or not working) for you. We’ll continue building strategies that help you feel more confident and in control of your eating, while making sure you feel supported every step of the way.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions are held online via Google Meet. I encourage clients to join from a quite and confidential space.
How many sessions will I need?
Recovery is a journey, and everyone’s path looks different. Some people start with weekly sessions, while others find a more flexible schedule works best for them. On average, at least 8 sessions are needed to create meaningful, lasting change – but there’s no pressure. I’ll be here to support you for as long as you need.
How much do sessions cost?
Online session fees:
75-minute initial assessment: £150
50-minute follow-up: £120
30-minute follow-up: £80
What does the session cost cover?
Your session fee includes more than just our time together – it also covers pre-session planning, post-session notes, helpful resources, meal plan adjustments (if needed), and communication with other professionals involved in your care (such as your GP or therapist). I also offer reasonable email support between sessions.
Are you covered by health insurance?
Unfortunately at this moment in time I am not covered by any insurance providers.
Can I cancel my session?
Life happens, and I totally understand that plans change! If you need to cancel, just let me know as soon as possible. There’s no charge if you cancel more than 48 hours before your session. Cancellations within 24-48 hours will be charged at 50%, and cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged the full session cost.
Do you offer discovery calls?
Yes! If you have any questions or just want to get a feel for how I work, I offer a free 15-minute discovery call. It’s a great way to check if we’re the right fit before booking a session.
I don’t live in the UK – can you still see me?
Yes! Since all sessions are online, I can work with clients from anywhere in the world. The only exception is for clients based in the USA or Canada, as my insurance doesn’t cover these regions.
Will you provide me with a meal plan?
Meal planning can be a really helpful tool, but I know that for some, it has been a difficult experience in the past. If we use a meal plan, it will be flexible and personalised to suit your needs – no strict rules, no calorie counting, just a guide to help you feel nourished and supported. My ultimate goal is to help you move towards a way of eating that feels natural and sustainable for you.
I want to lose weight – can you help?
I take a weight-inclusive approach, meaning that instead of focusing on weight loss, we focus on behaviours that support your health and well-being. If your current relationship with food is feeling complicated, we’ll work on finding a way to nourish your body in a way that feels good and sustainable for you.
Will I need to have any tests done before my assessment?
Depending on your medical history, I might suggest getting some blood tests or a physical health check before or after your initial assessment. This helps us make sure we’re supporting your body in the best way possible.
